How to add new order admin email notification on Magento





Magento is a feature-rich eCommerce platform built on open-source technology that provides online merchants with unprecedented flexibility and control over the look, content and functionality of their eCommerce storeIn this article explains I am going to explain, how to add a NEW ORDER ADMIN EMAIL NOTIFICATION extension on Magento. Basically, there were two emails that has to be send when a new order is placed by the customer. One going to the customer and one going to the admins. This feature could be especially valuable for those of us that use a fulfillment company. They could get the ‘admin’ version of the new order email that could include all sorts of details and necessary information about the customer that you don’t necessarily want in the new order email that goes to the customer. Thus the magento version 1.7 and below, does not support for receiving admin notification emails when a new order is placed by the customer. But it is necessary to add the extension for receiving admin mail notification.


So I have included the following steps below, how to configure for admin email     notification.
Step1: Downloading plugin 

Download the plugin from:
http://www.megastore.com/magento-new-order-admin-email-notification-extension.html
neworderadminemailnotification-v1.1.1-2012-09-05.zip

Step2: Extracting the downloaded zip file in to the root folder

Now get in to root directory and extract the downloaded zip file in to the root folder
#  cd /var/www/magento
#  unzip –r  neworderadminemailnotification-v1.1.1-2012-09-05.zip
Step 3: Logging into magento 
Login to admin panel









Step 4: Clearing Cache
  • From the top horizontal menu, navigate to System -> Cachemanagement
 
  •   Click on ‘Select all’ option and choose Action field to Refresh and ClickSubmit














          Step 5: Notfiy new order to email 
          • From the top horizontal menu, navigate to System -> Configuration
                
              •  Scroll down to the ‘Sales’ section on the left side menu pane and select ‘SalesEmail'
                        









                      • In the drop down box for ‘Notify New Order To Email’, give the admin email address. 
                      • Click the ‘Save Config’ button on the top right and you’re done.

















                                      
                                    Now you(admin) will be receiving mails when a new order  is placed by the customer.
